Six days, one by one

Day01

Fez · Ifrane · Azrou · Merzouga

Fez → Ifrane · Azrou · Midelt → Merzouga

Morning pickup in Fez and a drive south through Ifrane, the Middle Atlas mountain resort. Stop in Azrou to walk through the cedar forest, home to Barbary macaques. You cross the Middle Atlas over the Tizi n'Talghemt pass and stop for lunch in Midelt. Then the road follows the Ziz Valley and the Tafilalet oasis, lined with date palms, down to Merzouga at the foot of Erg Chebbi. Dinner included.

Day02

Merzouga · Khamlia · Erg Chebbi

Merzouga → Khamlia → Erg Chebbi

After breakfast, you head out by 4×4 on tracks once used by the Paris-Dakar Rally. Visit Khamlia, the village of the Gnawa, descendants of people enslaved and brought from south of the Sahara, and share tea with a nomad family. After lunch you trade the 4×4 for dromedaries, which carry you into the dunes for sunset. The night is spent in a Berber tent, with dinner, music and a sky full of stars.

Day03

Erg Chebbi · Rissani · Todra

Erg Chebbi → Rissani · Erfoud → Todra Gorge

An early start to watch sunrise over the sea of sand, then back to the hotel by dromedary for a shower and breakfast. Next comes Rissani and its traditional market; the town stands on the site of ancient Sijilmasa and is the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty. You continue to the Todra Gorge, with time to walk between its rock walls. Dinner included.

Day04

Todra · Dades · Ouarzazate

Todra → Boumalne · Skoura → Ouarzazate

After breakfast, you drive toward the Dades Valley through Boumalne and along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, past adobe villages and riverside gardens. The route crosses the Valley of Roses, where roses are grown for rose water, and the Skoura palm grove. In Ouarzazate you visit the Taourirt Kasbah, once a residence of the Glaoui family. Dinner included.

Day05

Ouarzazate · Aït Ben Haddou · Marrakech

Ouarzazate → Aït Ben Haddou · Tizi n'Tichka → Marrakech

In the morning, if you like film, you can visit the Ouarzazate studios, where many Hollywood movies have been shot. Then a detour to Aït Ben Haddou, the adobe ksar listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with free time to walk through it and climb to the top. You cross the High Atlas over the Tizi n'Tichka pass, at 2,260 m (7,415 ft), and reach Marrakech in the afternoon. Free time.

Breakfast and free time depending on your flight schedule. Transfer to Marrakech airport with enough time for check-in and security. End of our services.
